We are pleased to announce that the bird hides located at Chew Valley and Blagdon lakes have reopened! We remind customers that hides are only accessible upon purchase of a bird watching permit. Bird watching permits can be purchased from Woodford Lodge, Chew Valley lake. Our office opening hours are currently Mon-Fri; 8am-3:15pm. Permits can be pre dated so if you plan to visit on a weekend, get in touch during the week.
Day permits are available at a cost of £5.00 pp per day, half annual permits are available at a cost of £15.00pp and run up until 31st February 2021. For annual permits, membership to an ornithological club is requested. Proof of membership can be supplied direct to Woodford lodge during opening hours or via email to woodford.lodge@bristolwater.co.uk.
Bristol Water asks that at present no more than two persons use a hide at a time and we remind customers to follow current government guidance at all times if planning to visit our waters. Current guidance can be found here:
